Azealia Banks is speaking out.
For, the ‘212’ rapper took to Instagram after the death of DMX to discuss an issue that pertained to the late rapper, who she claimed was “crying out for help.”

She claimed that the music industry attempts to sabotage an artist by profiting as much as possible without considering their well-being.
“You have somebody like DMX, who, for so long, was crying out for help, crying out for f***ing help. Letting people know that he needed help, legitimate help.”
Banks then drew similarities between her and DMX.
“There have been a lot of times in my career where I’ve had fans, like ‘Azealia, go get help,’ ‘Go to the therapist.’ But guess what, I couldn’t afford to go see a f***ing therapist because I had business managers, lawyers, managers, record labels, everybody stealing my f***ing money. Weaving this f***ing web that is impossible to f***ing penetrate.”
However, she went on to add that looking out for an artist begins with providing them with quality health insurance.
“I’m saying this to record labels, if you guys are going to sign people into these lifelong contracts where they are offering up their f***ing intellectual property, health insurance, and the top health insurance has to be a no-motherf***ing-brainer. The health insurance coverage needs to last for the artist’s entire lifetime.”

No I ain’t miss nothing. The music industry is no different than others in any other industry. There are ppl overdosing and dying who work in corporate America, so what exactly is the point? Insurance or not, a druggy gonna be a druggy. You can’t force anyone to partake in anything regarding mental wellness.
Unfortunately labels, the media and fans alike don’t care about any artist’s wellbeing. Unless you’re a white girl like Britney Spears. And even then back in the day they didn’t give a flying f*** about her mental nor physical health.
It’s unfortunately the nature of the creative industry. Shut up and dance
How do they care about the whites? Look at the tragedies of people like Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain. They don’t care af about who you are or what color you are – just that you can rake in the money.
DMX had a drug and alcohol problem. He went to rehab multiple times. I’m sure if the record label offered him health insurance the premiums would be high because he would’ve been a liability.
I actually agree with Miss Banks! ✅ Many music artists are so “in their heads” when creating their art, going to painful places and then having to perform certain songs night after night from places of pain for truly the rest of their careers…you even hear artists say that they can’t perform particular songs anymore because it’s too much or it triggers them 💯 Mary J. Blige’s My Life and DMX’s Slippin comes to mind! 🎶 These artists are usually very young singing about experiences that basically just happened or recording emotional songs written by others that haven’t even happened to them yet! A young Michael Jackson comes to mind! Where DID he find the perfect emotion for I’ll Be There? Toni Braxton comes to mind! Cardi B has recently been open about being hesitant to record material that is too emotional or revealing…it’s no joke!
